Knockderry House has 6 fully-maintained 15-tonne rated moorings in a private cove in front of the hotel for the private use of all sailing guests to Knockderry House.
Our moorings are situated just where the Firth of Clyde and the sea loch, Loch Long meet. The river Clyde has long been known for the quality of its sailing and offers wonderfully sheltered cruising with several large marinas which can accommodate several thousand boats of all sizes. Our closest Marina is in Rhu just 8 nautical miles from the hotel with the larger Inverkip Marina only ½ a days sail away.
Cruising Waters
Scotland is well known for having some of the best cruising waters in the UK and regularly holds excellent racing and cruising events throughout the year. For those, however, sailing around the west coast of Scotland the hotel is a welcome harbour on the way up to the Crinan Canal or Tighnabruaich.
Step Ashore
Regretfully, we cannot reserve a mooring for your arrival, but whether you are visiting for a bite of lunch and a drink to break a day's sailing or would like an overnight mooring to step ashore for dinner or breakfast, we offer a safe harbour for you and your boat.
