Emergency Assistance and Fire Saftey

Should you require urgent assistance from a member of staff – dial ‘0’ from the telephone in your room.

As a small country house hotel we do not have a 24 hour night porter service, but please rest assured that a member of staff is always on site and available to deal with emergencies whatever the time of night. In addition, the following numbers may be helpful.

NHS24  - 08454 24 24 24

NHS Inform Helpline  - 0800 22 44 88

The fire alarm is sounded briefly on Friday mornings at 11.00 am; should it sound at any other time please treat it as genuine and evacuate the building following the instructions in your room and gather on the front lawn directly infront of the hotel where a member of staff will assist you further.

Smoking

We would be grateful if guests would note that in compliance with the law in Scotland, the hotel is a ‘No Smoking’ building.  We have a smokers' bin outside and we would be grateful if you would please use this and not leave cigarette ends on the ground .   Sadly, a number of guests have insisted on smoking in their rooms and this obliges us to take the room out of service, for deep cleaning, on their departure. The loss of a room for this purpose will charged to the guest concerned. We therefore, politely ask that you do not smoke in your room or out of the windows as the smell of smoke will still permeate your room.

Security

We ask all residents hand in their keys when they are not in the hotel. This is a simple security measure to ensure that keys do not get lost and ensures we are aware who is in the building.

The front door will normally be locked just after bar closing around 11.00 pm, if during your stay you intend to be out late at night, please let us know and arrangements can be made to ensure you can regain access to the building.

Finally, we have a fire safe in the hotel should any resident wish to place valuables.

Alcohol

As a licenced premises we are responsible for the consumption of alcohol in the hotel.  Guests therefore may not consume their own alcohol, in their rooms, on the premises of the hotel or its grounds without the express permission of the manager.

Where we have reasonable grounds to believe that alcohol has been brought onto, and consumed on, the premises then we reserve the right to make a charge for this. A charge of £25.00 per bottle will be applied if alcohol is brought onto the premises by guests for private consumption.
